The title” Beauty Of Impermanence”, came to me after looking at the many beautiful images of art, documented by Bill O’Such over the last several months in San Francisco. Many artists contributed to this “urban-street- art”, as an expression to our current COVID Pandemic. Thinking that time, weather, and human intervention would alter, change, and remove these works of art. I felt, as the doctrines of Buddhism teaches, everything is in a state of constant change, transient and impermanent. We need to embrace and see the beauty of the now and appreciate the “Beauty Of Impermanence”. These expressions of art on plywood would not be on display that long for us to take in and reflect upon. We trust you will enjoy this ephemeral collection.

Capturing the essential nature of Paris and other cities is the driving force of my work. From shimmering reflections on the Seine to the long shadows cast upon the hills of San Francisco to the untouched landscapes of Tasmania, my photos reveal each location through my eyes. Probing the intersection of geometry, light and unique subjects, I capture unconventional views and turn them into photographic stories for all to enjoy.

I was introduced to silver halide photography by my father, Chester J. O’Such, via the family’s Ansco reflex camera and home darkroom. After college, I worked as a photographic engineer at Eastman Kodak, where I began to learn the art of photography with my first SLR, a Canon AE-1.

This early spark turned into full passion when I lived in Paris from 1995-99. My wife and I continue to visit Paris at least twice a year where I wander the streets, camera in hand, looking for the next vignette.
