The Harvey Milk Photo Center features a modern digital photo lab for all your scanning, editing, and digital printing needs.
Digital Lab Hours
Tuesday: 3 pm – 8 pm
Wednesday: 3 pm – 8 pm
Thursday: 3 pm – 8 pm
Saturday: 11 am – 4 pm
Features:
- Four color calibrated 27 inch iMacs with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- An Epson P7570 24 inch large format printers.
- Five Epson flatbed scanners, one Nikon 35mm dedicated scanner
Please note:
- The digital lab can only be used once you have taken our orientation and become a member or purchase a day pass.
- We do not allow wet scanning. Please only use the scanning holders we provide.
- Please do not scan materials that are metal, glass, or rock. These materials will scratch the flatbed glass.
- Staff do not provide hands-on instruction on using inkjet printers or scanners outside of the basic information of our setup. If you’d like to learn, the Photo Center frequently offers inkjet printing and scanning classes.
Scanners:
- 3 Epson V550s. 3200dpi, supports cut 35mm and medium format film.
- 2 Epson V850s. 6400dpi, supports cut 35mm and medium format, as well as 4×5 and 8×10 sheet film.
- 1 Epson 10000xl. 2400dpi, supports cut 35mm and medium format, as well as 4×5 and 8×10 sheet film.
- 1 Nikon Coolscan IV ED. Supports 35mm cut to strips of 3 to 6 images only. Uses Vuescan software.
Printers:
The Photo Center provides access to a professional large format inkjet printer.
- Epson P7570 24 inch wide format printer.
- Supports 8.5×11 sheets and larger, with paper rolls up to 24 inches wide
Cost of Printing:
On HMPC-Provided Paper: 13 cents per square inch
On Paper Provided by the Member: 10 cents per square inch
On paper provided by the Photo Center’s stock, we charge for the entire size of the printed sheet, including unprinted areas. When member prints from their own paper, we only charge for the printed area.
