A one-hour tour of our facilities and how it works.
This is a required course to take before you can become a member.

Orientation dates vary by season and are listed on the SF Rec & Parks registration page.

Do I need to take it?

Yes

If you want to use the facilities on your own as a member or when purchasing a day pass. Everyone takes it once, whatever your experience level.

No

If you only want to take a class. Orientation is not required for any of our classes.

What happens in the hour

Part 1

Rules and regulations

How the space works, what is and isn’t allowed, and what using it as a member involves.

Part 2

Tour of the facility

The thirty-enlarger darkroom, the film developing room, the digital lab, and the materials available in the lobby such as the dry mount presses.

Part 3

Questions and answers

Ask anything about the facilities, the classes we run, or analog photography in general.

Register

Orientations run every other Saturday and tend to fill up fast. Booking goes through the San Francisco Recreation & Parks class registration system.
