AIMEE YOUM is a conceptual visual storyteller based in San Francisco.
The artist finds a story from the fleeting moments that we can easily encounter in our daily life and she tells the story by capturing a split second.
The imagery she creates for the 150th anniversary of the Golden Gate Park project evokes not only a feeling of calmness but also synesthesia. Aimee’s dreamlike photographs soothe the viewers and give a place where the viewer can have an emotional rest just as the park offers to the people who live in the hectic city life.
Aimee also loves playing with the scale of images and the placement of the photos. She creates books as a form of a small exhibition and she sees the gallery space as a spread of a book. The artist’s distinctive perspective breaks the traditional rules of photography installation.
