Denis Englander

Playing with Photography since the 70’s

We are pleased to offer this virtual exhibit, showcasing the diverse and arresting photography of Denis Englander.  Denis has this innate ability to capture and interpret the beauty and essence of a location. Be this landscapes and people, which he composes so elegantly.  I know his passion for travel and creating strong images is a natural fit for him.

Curating and choosing this virtual exhibit was a pleasure, as I appreciate his discerning eye. I know several years ago, we had a wonderful exhibit, exhibiting his photography at our McLaren Lodge, which is the headquarters for our San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, located in Golden Gate Park.

We look forward to having you join us for the live webinar on March 20, 2021.

Artist Statement

Hello Dear Viewer and thank you for taking an interest in my images.

My name is Denis Englander, born in California in 1947, raised and currently living in San Francisco. Playing with photography since the ‘70s has provided me with a lot of pleasure and a spectrum for captured memories. It has increased my awareness of the world around me while offering many areas for discovery, self-expression, and shared friendships. In addition to my own North America, I’ve been able to visit Western Europe, China, and Japan.

My favorite photography genres in both color and Black & White include: Street, Landscape, Portrait, Architecture, Abstract, Still, Travel, Macro, and Sports. Basically, “soup to nuts”, I like it all. Whatever catches my eye and can fit in my lens is qualified to become a memorable image. I hope you enjoy my memories.

Thank You!
