UNAPOLOGETICALLY QUEER!  It is said that history repeats itself, but when the clock goes in reverse and our nation moves backwards, we cannot sit idle and let the advancements we’ve made fade away.  We will not go away and we will not remain silent. The first Pride was a riot, and perhaps it is time to revolutionize and resist stronger than ever. We will rise up, be heard, be seen, and not erased. We are here, Unapologetically Queer!

Join us at the Harvey Milk Center for the Arts on Saturday, July 19th at 1 pm for a lively discussion with the Rev. Dr. Megan Rohrer about The History of Being Unapologetically Queer. Megan’s new photo book, on the the history of San Francisco’s Transgender District, is part of Arcadia Publishing’s “Images of America” series and includes over 200 historic images from the 1880’s through the present. This inspirational talk will use photos from the past as a roadmap for unapologetic life, love and queer activism.

Megan Rohrer, PhD and DMin, is a social justice influencer known for his advocacy with the homeless and LGBTQ communities who has been featured on Netflix’s Queer EyeCosmopolitanPeople, and other publications around the globe.

After the conversation at 1 pm, stay for the Harvey Milk Center for the Arts & Photo Center  Annual Art + Pride Exhibition at the Photo Center Gallery downstairs, with over 60 queer artists claiming their queerness unapologetically, open until 4:30 pm on Saturday and running through July 31, 2025.
