2019 StreetFoto San Francisco Festival

June 3 – June 9, 2019

StreetFoto San Francisco, the world’s largest street photography festival, is returning to Harvey Milk Photo Center for its fourth annual week-long event, June 3-9, 2019.

The festival hosts workshops, lectures, photo walks, an international photography contest, and exhibitions at HMPC and around the city. This year’s special guests include Magnum Photos legend Richard Kalvar from Paris, internationally-acclaimed Matt Stuart from London, and rising star Roza Vulf from Rome.

As in the past, the HMPC will host two of the festival’s workshops, all of its lectures, and the exhibition of the finalists in StreetFoto’s International Street Photography Awards, a contest that attracts thousands of entries from dozens of countries. This year the festival also features five other satellite exhibitions at galleries around town. For detailed information about our exhibitions and lectures, visit http://streetfoto.org/festival

Street photography education is an important mission of the festival, and this year, StreetFoto is hosting three workshops taught by street photography masters:

  • 5-day street photography workshop with Richard Kalvar, June 3-7
  • 3-day street photography workshop with Matt Stuart, June 7-9 (sold out)
  • 3-day street photography workshop with Jack Simon and Barry Talis, June 7-9

One of these highlights of StreetFoto is its extensive schedule of free photo walks through neighborhoods around the city. This year the festival has scheduled fifteen walks, all led by volunteers. Many visitors tell us these photo walks are the highlight of their festival experience. To participate, visit https://streetfoto.org/festival/#photowalks.
