Membership

Our members* enjoy full access to the oldest and largest darkroom in the United States, full feature film processing areas, and a state-of-the-art digital lab. Members also have the opportunity to take part in our annual “Members, Staff & Volunteer Exhibit”, located in our large gallery space. This venue is perfect for some of the best exposure in San Francisco.

*All new members must complete the Photo Center Orientation before registration will be complete.

FAQ

CAN I UPGRADE MY PLAN?

We are unable to upgrade any current memberships. If you wish to upgrade your membership, you may do so at the time of your renewal date.

IS DARKROOM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?

All prospective members must complete the free Photography Center Orientation Course before purchasing a new membership package.

While extensive darkroom experience is not required, we strongly recommend that new members consider taking our Darkroom Essentials and Processes and make the most of your Harvey Milk Photo Center experience.

Requesting accommodations at least 72 hours prior to the event or activity will help ensure availability. 

IS EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE?

At the Harvey Milk Photo Center, you’ll have access to 40 dark room printing stations, with enlargers, filters and more at your disposal. Standard developing tanks and other film processing equipment is available for free checkout while in the Photo Center. We also have a digital lab with 5 stations fully loaded with Photoshop and Lightroom and large format printers.
