Golden Gate Park 150th Anniversary Exhibit

I began photographing when I was about 10 years old and still remember the first photo I took that captured my attention. Two bears in the Montreal Zoo. I was hooked but it was a long time before I got serious.

After graduating from college, I traveled throughout Europe and one day in Paris decided I wanted to be a photographer. Knowing almost nothing about processing I knew I had to take a few classes and enrolled in San Francisco State University with a plan to get an MFA. However, I was living in the Haight Ashbury and my plans for college pretty much went up in “smoke” so to speak! But photography had taken hold.

At the time I lived close to the Panhandle and Golden Gate Park and my love affair with the Park began. I have always loved the Park with its nooks and crannies where you can wander for hours and forget the world around you. I am inspired by many things: nature, wildlife, architecture – basically whatever catches my eye – not to mention the work of many other brilliant photographers.
