Making a Photobook

6/4-7/9
Thurday, 6-8pm

Course Description

This six-week workshop guides participants through the complete process of transforming a body of photographs into a photobook: from conceptualization and editing through sequencing, material choices, and the production of a finished dummy or digital layout. Students leave with a working prototype and a lasting framework for understanding the photobook as a distinct expressive medium. This course is for adults who have been making photographs and are ready to think beyond the single image. No bookmaking experience is required, but participants should arrive with an existing body of work, a series, a project, or a collection around a theme, and a small working set of prints to use in class.
