Aaron F. Anderson is the Facility Assistant and Darkroom Manager at the Harvey Milk Photo Center, where he runs the day-to-day of the darkroom: mixing the chemistry, keeping the enlargers working, and giving the orientations that get new members started at the Photo Center. He has been at the Photo Center for over five years, and curates and produces the annual Member, Staff, and Volunteer Show.
He makes his own photographs under the name affords, mostly black and white film shot around the San Francisco Bay Area, with a long-running interest in long exposures and alternative processes. He also builds open-source software and hardware for film photographers, including dorkroom.art, a set of darkroom calculators and other photography tools, and a library of 3D-printable negative carriers for enlargers.
